You may be building a new home and want help translating architectural plans into a kitchen that works in everyday life. Or you may have spent months saving inspiration online but aren't sure how all those ideas fit together.
Sometimes the starting point is much simpler. You know something about the kitchen isn't working, but you haven't figured out exactly what needs to change.
That is where looking at the room as a whole becomes useful. Where do groceries get unloaded? Is there enough landing space beside the range? Where does everyone gather? Does the island improve the way the kitchen works, or is it simply taking up space? Is there enough storage for the things you actually use?
These questions may not be as exciting as choosing tile or cabinet hardware, but they often have the biggest effect on how the finished kitchen feels to live in.
And then there are the fun parts.
Once the layout is working, the possibilities open up. Materials, cabinetry, lighting, hardware, color, and texture can begin to shape the character of the room. A beautiful stone, an unexpected tile, or the right combination of wood and paint can take a kitchen in a completely different direction.

The process begins with understanding how the kitchen is currently used, what isn't working, and what you want the space to become. We look at the practical details of everyday life as well as the things you want the new kitchen to feel like.01

Understand Establish the LayoutFrom there, layout options are developed so there is something concrete to respond to. We consider circulation, work zones, storage, appliances, and how the kitchen connects to the spaces around it before moving into individual selections.Once the overall direction is established, the design starts to take shape through cabinetry, materials, lighting, fixtures, hardware, and finishes. This is where the personality of the kitchen really comes through. Each selection is considered for how it looks on its own and how it contributes to the room as a whole.03

Kitchen projects involve a high number of decisions that all need to work together. Good design brings those decisions into the same conversation rather than treating the layout, cabinetry, lighting, and finishes as separate problems.
Clients often come to me with ideas they already love. The challenge isn't finding more inspiration. It's figuring out which ideas belong together, where it's worth investing, and where a simpler choice might actually create a better result.
I especially enjoy the part of the process where a kitchen starts to come together. A material that seemed ordinary on its own suddenly works beautifully beside another. A small change in cabinet proportions makes the whole wall feel more balanced. The right lighting brings out the texture of a stone or the warmth of a wood finish.
